It looks Obvious: On the miss-use of technology

    Hey Rogel,

Interesting...I guess when I was thinking about copyright, I was thinking about it in an RIAA way - copyrights being owned by big entities. What a blunder. I didn't stop to think about individual copyright. I totally agree that your data/work/etc. is yours and only yours. I'm a 'Creative Commons' girl - and I'm one of those people who say, "Come one, come all - take it and use it freely (although I don't think I give rights to use my work commercially)".

Hmmmm...it's like a double-edged sword, isn't it? I'm going to think on this one a bit. Thanks for your thoughtful post.

I'm impressed. By the way if a company produced something, doesnt the owner/s of the company has the right for it? I met today with CEO of a company that built wonderful product, really, and I think that they have the right to keep the code for themselves if that what they want.
We all hate RIAA for the ways they abuse the rights, but until the artist and we stop using them they will get along with it. doesn't make a different between Individual and Corporation here.
I'm impress with your intellectual honesty, really!

I am going to have to align with the enemy here as well. I think taking away copyright protection from anyone, private or corporation removes the incentive to create and develop, stifling innovation.

Is not the end goal to produce something that the creator owns that they can then hopefully get a return on their investment? You can rest assured these new entities are going hope they have that protection in place when the VC's start expecting a return on their investment.

I agree with you Doug, the distinction between "Big entities" and Individual is superficial and wrong.
